Our Sporting Clays Tournament has been going on for 4 years at Sun Mountain Gun Club in Coarsegold, Ca. Each year the tournament gets a little larger and last year at our 4th Annual we had 210 confirmed shooters! It is an NSCA Registered Shoot complete with 15 stations of Trap and Skeet shooting.
Registration always begins at 8:00am on the morning of the shoot (always in April), followed by a continental breakfast and the BOOM of the Shotgun, signaling the start of the tournament at 9:00. The day long tournament includes a gourmet lunch catered by Pardini’s along with amazing raffle items. Competitive scores are kept by the Central Valley Cadets and the awards ceremony begins at 1pm. Each team of five shooters receives free ammunition, a gift bag, and range fees on us!
This fundraising event is not only an exciting pastime for anyone involved it also is an amazing opportunity to support The Central Valley Ronald McDonald House during such an important time.
A special training session is always held a couple of weeks before the shoot for anyone interested in the event, but lacking “shooting knowledge.” Special accommodations are made at a nearby hotel for anyone wanting to spend the night.
